Which Feed, and When?
Match the NPK to the season and the job for the best results.
Spring & Summer Growth
High nitrogen feeds such as 9-7-7 Nutrigrow or Spring-Gem 14-3-10 push strong top growth and deep colour during the growing season. Granular feeds typically respond within 7 days and last around 6 weeks.
Autumn & Winter Hardening
Lower nitrogen, high potash feeds such as 3-12-12 Nutrigrow or Autumn-Gem 4-2-16 strengthen roots and toughen the sward for frost and disease. Ideal after scarifying or overseeding.
Pre-Seeding & New Lawns
6-9-6 Pre-Seeder is the safe choice before or after sowing and under new turf — high phosphate for rapid root development, with low nitrogen so it will not scorch young seedlings.
Iron & Seaweed Tonics
Liquid iron such as Ferro-Gem greens and hardens grass year round and helps suppress moss, while Emerald Pro Seaweed aids recovery after stress and improves root strength.
Feeding Your Lawn in 3 Steps
Rate, timing and even coverage make all the difference.
Work Out Your Area
Measure the lawn in square metres so you apply the correct rate — typically 20g to 35g per m² for granular feeds, and never more than the label allows.
Feed at the Right Time
Granular feeds work best in mild, damp conditions with rain forecast. Avoid applying in drought or frost, and never feed a lawn that is already under stress.
Apply Evenly & Water In
Split the dose in two passes at right angles for even coverage, then water in if no rain is due. Keep off the treated lawn until the granules have dissolved.
